PRA in Puerto Rico 2006

Puerto Rico close up

Going to Puerto Rico with the INTAG 481 class during Spring Break is a fun, hands-on way to apply knowledge you learn in the classroom! Typically in INTAG 481, students spend the first two months of the semester in the classroom, where they learn about Puerto Rico, tropical agriculture, rural farm programs, the history of the island, and, most importantly, the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal). The PRA, a needs-assesment process, is the focus of this class. This process is then put into action when students implement the 8 steps in small farming communitities around Puerto Rico. Of course, you should be ready to work over your Spring Break; but, don't worry because we always make sure there's time to go to the beach! Puerto Rico close up
