Student Experiences in Russia

Lynn Ressler

"The classes are taught in English
by American professors. There are also English speaking Russian students in the classes with us."

"If someone had told my father when I was baby that I would be in Moscow in 2004, he probably would have though that I
would be here as a soldier fighting in a large scale conflict with the Soviets. So much has changed since the 80's and Americans can travel in the former USSR."

"Its interesting to learn a bit of a new language, learn about a new culture, and particularly, its a great lesson in economics and seeing how capitalism actually encourages new products, better products, and competition drives down prices."

"Best of all it was great to be able to become friends with a people who at one point in time would have been considered bitter enemies of the United States. So many Americans live in their own little world, trapped inside a bubble of American pop culture and MTV."

"The world is much bigger than that and there is a whole lot else out there to experience."
