INTAG Costa Rica

In the spring of 2004, Penn State students in INTAG 481 had their first opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and complete a student developed modified PRA. During this program, four women farmers and an extension agent worked with students to provide a unique opportunity to learn about limited resource agriculture in Costa Rica. We hiked in the rain forest, trekking across small creeks to observe the landscape in its natural form. We saw red frogs, native parrots, and blue radiant butterflies in their natural habitat, and we also saw an abundance of tropical flora with our local guides. It was a lot of fun! The interesting relaxed Spanish culture and the beautiful tropical environment contributed to the great 11-day spring break experience. Take a look at the following web pages to get an idea of our program.
